A Quiet Lake
Sitting beside a quiet lake
Enjoying nature’s orchestra
The birds fly through the air
Singing their songs
And the leaves add their notes
Of crinkle, crack, and rustle
Sitting beside a quiet lake
Nature’s orchestra plays on
A faun passes with her mother
Gently drinking the cool, crisp water
As squirrels race playfully through the trees
Leaping as acrobats from limb to limb
Sitting beside a quiet lake
I realize it really isn’t quiet at all
But it’s quiet enough for me.
As nature plays a symphony just for me
The noise of the world falls away
And all I hear is calm
